Janice Ferebee, native New Yorker, is an award-winning girls' empowerment author (Got It Goin' On® series), speaker, two-time DC elected official, founder and Chief Woman Warrior of Ferebee Enterprises International, LLC, and retired nonprofit professional with a Masters of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania. Janice has turned more than four (4) decades of unique personal and professional experiences into tools to help parents, educators, practitioners, and girl-serving organizations, empower girls and young women of color -- to build confidence and cultural pride, develop personal action plans, and create blueprints for their lives. As a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Ms. Ferebee has the distinction of being the first African American Models Editor for Seventeen Magazine over 40 years ago; featured on BET's Teen Summit and The Oprah Winfrey Show; a 2003 ESSENCE Award Winner; and a two-time fallopian tube cancer survivor blessed with over 30 years in long-term recovery. She has dedicated the rest of her life to sharing her wisdom, experience, strength, and hope, to EMPOWER THE NEXT GENERATION OF WOMEN WARRIORS OF COLOR!
